Specific Objectives of MIP are:

  • To create an awareness of the challenges of the developmental state.

The programme includes, among others,

  • The vision and work of government;
  • Challenges facing the government;
  • Structures of government;
  • Understanding the public service;
  • Building better public service;
  • Improving service delivery;
  • Corruption and Ethics;
  • Government spending and the developmental state;
  • South Africa and other countries;
  • Batho Pele principles;
  • Government policies and procedures; and
  • Managing people, finances and other resources.

The programme is a non-credit bearing two-day compulsory contact session conducted by experienced departmental trainers and contracted providers.
